DONATE TO CVFC/CVFAS FUND DRIVE
Dear Residents of the Chesters,

We, your fellow residents, have served you in your time of need. Now we call upon you for your help. Many of you have always been there for us in the past, and we appreciate your continued financial support. We ask those who have not contributed before to conside doing so now. Perhaps some of you are new to the area and are unaware that we are volunteer organizations.

In 2005 the Chester Volunteer First Aid Squad answered 850 emergency medical calls in the community, while our Volunteer Fire Company answered 302 alarms and automobile accidents. When training, drills and community service projects (basement pumping, pool filling and Oktoberfest cooking, etc.) are added in, both organizations expend well over 10,000 man-hours in volunteer time annually. That's more than a year working for you fulltime! We're not complaining, though; we are grateful for the opportunity to serve.

Chester Borough and Township generously support our operating expenses with your tax dollars to keep our pumpers and ambulances on the road, but we generate the funds for state-of-the-art equipment purchases and building upkeep through fundraising efforts like the Carnival at Chubb Park (2007 dates: June 26-30), rental of our refurbished Hoffman Banquet Hall at the Firehouse (879-5116), and this Annual Fund Drive. In 2005 the First Aid Squad officially moved into new headquarters at the Telecordia property on North Road, and utilized you Fund Drive contributions to purchase a new ambulance without help from the municipalities, an extaordinary feat. For its part, the Fire Company has been entrusted with a Class A Foam Tanker by the United States Department of Homeland Security in the event of a terrorist attack anywhere in the metropolitan area.

So call us anytime at 879-5511 (firehouse) or 879-5560 (Squad), come see us any Sunday morning, and every September 11 at the Froehner Memorial in Chubb Park to commemorate the deaths of 3000 Americans, including 500 first responders, on that terrible day in 2001. When the alarm sounds, we will always answer. Thank you for your support.
